Dilator Training FAQ
What are vaginal dilators?
The Intimate Rose Vaginal Dilators are intended to be used at home for controlled dilation of the vagina. They help expand, stretch, and relax pelvic floor muscles using 8 progressive sizes to help relieve the symptoms of vaginismus, such as painful intercourse and medical exams.
What is a dilator used for?
Intimate Rose Silicone Vaginal Dilators were designed for people experiencing symptoms of vaginismus, such as vaginal discomfort or pain with intercourse, exams, or tampon use.
They are often used in conjunction with dilator therapy to restore width of the vaginal opening, depth, and elasticity without invasive surgery.
What can vaginal dilators treat?
The Intimate Rose Vaginal Dilators are cleared to treat the symptoms of Vaginismus such as painful intercourse, known as dyspareunia.
Are dilators painful?
Dilators are a helpful tool to relieve pain. While dilator training can result in discomfort, they are not painful. Thanks to Intimate Rose's 8 progressive sizes there is a gentle transition from one size to the next.
Additionally, you as the user are always in control of the depth and time spent training. It is recommended that you use breathing and relaxation techniques during dilator training to help reduce discomfort.
If you experience pain it is recommended that you simply take a break or go down to a smaller size for that time period.

REAL WOMEN. REAL STORIES.
I had struggled with pain in my lower region for a long time - even simple gyno visits were extremely painful for me, and intercourse was absolutely impossible. I was certain I had vaginismus, although I wasn’t able to get a confirmed diagnosis. Once I started using the dilator sets, I instantly noticed a difference in not only how my pelvic muscles reacted to insertion, but in my confidence as well. It was a great way to slowly and safely train my muscles and I quickly found myself able to transition painlessly to each size in the coming weeks. After training myself on level 4, I was finally able to experience intercourse without any issue, and I have a newfound sense of confidence going into my next gynecologist appointment. I can’t thank the developers of this product enough for what it has done for me. I am 100% certain to recommend this treatment to anyone else who has had similar struggles. Thank you!!”
